Spotify Makes Podcasts Easier to Save, Share, and Revisit
Clips are rolling out globally across mobile for both Free and Premium users
The best moments in a podcast rarely come with a bookmark. They pass, you register them, and then they’re gone—buried somewhere in a 45-minute episode you may never scrub through again. Clips are designed to fix that.
With the new feature, listeners can capture and save the exact moments that resonate—whether it’s a sharp insight, a laugh-out-loud exchange, or a segment worth passing along. Instead of relying on memory or timestamps, clips let you isolate and revisit what actually mattered.
The sharing experience has been upgraded alongside it. From a single menu, users can now send a full episode, a chapter, a specific timestamp, or a clip—streamlining how audio moves across conversations and platforms.
The behavior shift is meaningful. When listeners save moments, they’re more likely to return.
Clips live in a dedicated space within Your Library and can be organized into podcast playlists, turning passive listening into something closer to curation.
Early signals suggest this is more than a convenience feature. Chapters—introduced earlier this year—are already being saved and playlisted over 2 million times per month. Initial testing shows that clips further increase saving behavior. For creators, that turns a single standout moment into a discovery engine, offering new entry points for potential fans.
The mechanics are simple. While listening, tap the scissor icon in the Now Playing view, trim the segment, and choose to save or share. From there, clips can be sent via Spotify Messages or any supported platform, and are automatically stored in Your Library for later use.
Clips are rolling out globally across mobile for both Free and Premium users, with availability expanding across more shows over time. The next time something catches your attention, you won’t have to remember where it happened—you can just keep it.
