Hello everyone and happy Friday! A lot of Spotify news hit the web this week, from podcast deals to diving into Apple’s App store EU ordeal. So here we go with a quick spin around the world of Spotify. 😎
★ In the SPOTlight:
⭐️ Spotify Signs Deal With Warner Bros., DC for Slate of Exclusive Scripted Podcasts
All-new podcasts starring Batman, Wonder Woman — or Bugs Bunny — could be streaming to your headphones soon. In the latest move to punch up its podcast biz, Spotify inked a multiyear pact with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment to produce and distribute an original slate of narrative scripted podcasts, which will be exclusively licensed to Spotify for a period time.
⭐️ Spotify continues building its podcast empire despite lockdown
In the first three months of 2020, Spotify reported a 31% rise in paid subscribers. Despite reaching 130 million paying customers, due to a slowdown in advertising because of coronavirus its revenue rise fell short of analyst estimates.
Beyond advertisers tightening their purse strings, with most listeners staying at home, listening habits have changed dramatically.
⭐️ Spotify Adds Video To Its Self-Serve Ad Platform
Spotify today added video advertising to Ad Studio, its self-serve ad platform, in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.
Select advertisers in 18 test markets across Europe, Asia and Latin America have been using the capability since April. Ad Studio is available in a total of 22 markets worldwide.

🎼 And now… a little music
I’m loving the 11th edition of ‘New Adventures in Spotify.’ The first four is sublime, kicking off with Stew and classic Rod Stewart, followed by Mavis Staples and Tom Waits. Sensational!
Then we’re off to the musical races with Neko Case, John Coltrane, The Cure, ABC, Richard Hawley, Son Volt, 10,000 Maniacs, The Bees, Elvis Costello and many more.
Thanks for reading! Have a nice weekend! 😀
