Hello and welcome to the latest Spotify Newsletter. I wasn’t planning on sending an email Thursday. Post to the main page, yes, but I didn’t intend to send an actual email. But I did. It’s done. Part of the healing process.
Special circumstances considering the heartbreaking news that the Spotify Mothership is killing Stations. It’s my favorite part of the Spotify puzzle and soon it’ll be gone with the wind.
Maybe not enough people were using it. Maybe after three years the team decided there wasn’t enough upside to keep the lights on.
There’s a reason. I have a feeling that if it were wildly popular I wouldn’t have to see it go on May 16.
I’ll survive, but it’s a huge bummer! Huge!
I have countless playlists all perfectly lined up and looking good. And now I have to say goodbye.
And here I thought the biggest news of the week was going to be Spotify setting up a big playground with Roblox. Instead, it’s the shutdown of my favorite Spotify product.
Goodbye, Stations. You were awesome.

Spotify Newsletter #108
I've only recently found your newsletter, but I'm really loving what I'm seeing. You really do a great job of providing an excellent round-up of Spotify-related news, which is something I'm very interested in. Plus, those are some killer tracks you listed under "new adventures" - I especially love Neko Case, Ryan Adams, Jack White, and Mad Season. Looking forward to more in the future!
