Spotify on Tuesday morning reported it added another 5 million paying customers during the first quarter, indicating its bet on podcasts is continuing to help attract users who are interested in more than just music.

The figure includes creators on the platform across all formats and agreements, including the platform’s biggest fish, Joe Rogan, Alex Cooper and Theo Von, the company said.

That’s according to the Financial Times, which reported over the weekend that Spotify plans to implement price hikes equivalent to about EUR €1 ($1.14) on monthly individual subscriptions throughout Europe and Latin America as early as June.

The Alarm singer Mike Peters dies aged 66
Mike Peters, front man of Welsh rockers The Alarm and a long-standing cancer campaigner and fundraiser, has died aged 66. His band was formed in 1981 in Rhyl, Denbighshire, out of the punk era and had a top 20 hit, Sixty Eight Guns, two years later.
It typified an anthemic style of song but their unpretentious and down-to-earth approach earned loyal followings on both sides of the Atlantic.
