Hello and welcome to another episode of the Spotify Newsletter! We’re delighted you have joined us for our weekly trip around the world of Spotify.
It was earnings week, which delivered lots of news, but one big story that has captured the interest of both the sports and the music world is the news that Daniel Ek is looking to buy a majority stake in Arsenal FC.
We’re big Arsenal fans, so this week has been quite crazy — our love of Spotify and our love of Arsenal blending together as one, giant cocktail of awesomeness.. .or something like that. We’re totally behind the bid, so let’s hope it happens.
Spotify is bumping the family plan subscription to $16 per month, so perhaps the extra cash is going towards the Arsenal bid, or an increase in artist payment. Either way, the plan is jumping up a level. Plan accordingly.
