Spotify Wrapped 2024 is out, giving hundreds of millions of users the ability to see their most-played songs and artists over the course of the year.
The annual report, which allows users to compare their music listening habits with other fans around the world, on Wednesday began rolling out to all users on the streaming platform.
New this year, fans can uncover more listening insights dotted across the Spotify experience.
The “share” functionality for music and podcasts on Spotify has been given a Wrapped spin. By tapping “share,” Spotify will reveal whether the content you’re streaming stacks up in your top 100 songs, top 20 artists, or top five podcasts.
This year, Spotify added additional artificial intelligence features to enhance individual users’ Wrapped experiences, including personalized AI podcasts about users’ music listening histories, a feature powered by Google’s NotebookLM and stemming from an expanded partnership between the two companies.
Taylor Swift is Spotify’s Global Top Artist for the second year in a row, dominating the most-streamed global albums chart with “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.”
Meanwhile, Spotify’s most-streamed songs worldwide in 2024 were: Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” with more than 1.6 billion streams globally, followed by Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” “Gata Only” by FloyyMenor and Cris MJ, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.”
Spotify also unveiled the top podcasts of the year, led by “The Joe Rogan Experience” and Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy.” In addition, Spotify Wrapped for the first time features the top audiobooks of the year, with Sarah J. Maas coming in as the No. 1 most-streamed author and her hit fantasy-romance “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series claiming the top audiobook spot.
Since its inception, Spotify Wrapped has continued to evolve, and every year it reaches more fans around the world. Over the past decade, we’ve learned that our users crave a unique, personalized way to reflect on their listening habits each year—and artists and creators want to learn more about how their fans streamed.
Whether it’s building a seamless experience that makes it easier than ever to engage with Wrapped, delivering global data stories through the lens of local culture, creating real-life experiences that surprise and delight, or introducing fresh and unique ways for users to engage with their year in listening, we’ve continually innovated and iterated Wrapped so that we can keep offering a unique perspective on emerging trends—catching the beat before it goes mainstream.
“Our annual thank-you to fans around the world, Spotify Wrapped has become deeply ingrained in the lives of music fans worldwide,” said Marc Hazan, Vice President, Partnerships and Marketing at Spotify. “What started as a look back at the music and audio that defined the year has become a global cultural phenomenon in its own right, a moment driven by the passion of hundreds of millions of fans. We’re thrilled to debut 2024 Spotify Wrapped to more fans than ever before this year, celebrating the hundreds of millions of ways that they’ve streamed.”
